A SHORT GUIDE TO CLEARER IDEAS

From a few words.
To a whole picture.

Your first diagram is four simple steps away.

01

Give your idea a few lines.

Open the editor and paste your notes into the Write tab. Use a # heading for your title, then put each idea on a separate line. A colon separates a label from its description.

02

Find the shape that fits.

Choose a layout above the canvas, or start in the template library. Processes show steps, timelines show milestones, comparisons bring two sides together, and mind maps show branches.

03

Make every detail yours.

Open Content to change the title, subtitle, labels, and descriptions. Add or reorder items, or add branches for a hierarchy. Open Style for palettes, typography, hand drawn finishes, and text sizes in signature layouts. The canvas updates as you work.

04

Take the picture with you.

Export an SVG for a sharp graphic at any size, or a PNG for slides and documents. Choose a transparent background or 1×, 2×, or 3× PNG resolution in Export. Export Project JSON for an editable backup. Your work also saves automatically in My diagrams in this browser.

A few things that help.

For charts, add real numbers.

Use a number for every item, like Search: 42 or Direct: 28. Autodiagram uses the numbers you provide. Pie charts need non-negative values with a total above zero.

For mind maps, indent branches.

Put related ideas beneath a parent and indent them with spaces. The Content tab also lets you add branches directly.

Give longer content room.

Short labels make diagrams easier to scan. Use descriptions for supporting detail. Try a grid, vertical list, or winding process when your idea has more steps.

For more control, open Code.

Native syntax supports custom node IDs, connections, data formats, themes, and design options. Apply a valid draft to preview it. Your original structured content stays saved; returning restores it. Native code travels in Project JSON backups.

Keep an editable backup.

Browser saving is local to this device and browser. Before clearing site data or switching devices, export Project JSON. Use Import project in My diagrams to bring it back.

You have the idea.
Let’s give it a shape.
