What's a good roadmap format?
Now, Next, Later keeps a roadmap honest about certainty. Quarters work well for planning with dates. Either way, keep each phase to one clear focus.
How is this different from the timeline maker?
Timelines record what happened. Roadmaps look ahead, so these layouts give each phase more room for its goal.
Can I add several items to a phase?
Keep the main idea on the phase line and add detail after the colon. For a full feature list per phase, indent items under each phase and use a tree layout in the editor.
Is this roadmap maker really free?
Yes. You can write, preview, switch layouts, and download a PNG or SVG without an account or a card. Signing up is only needed for AI drafting and cloud sync.
Does this page use AI?
No. The preview follows your lines exactly: each line becomes an item, a colon adds a description, and indentation adds a branch. Nothing is invented. If you want AI to draft or rewrite a diagram, open it in the editor and sign up for 10 free AI credits a month.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The diagram is drawn in your browser. When you choose Open in editor, it's saved to this browser's local storage, not to a server, unless you sign in and turn on sync.
Can I share an editable roadmap?
Open it in the editor and export a Project JSON file. Anyone can import it into Autodiagram and keep editing.
