How do I add names and roles?
Write the role, a colon, then the name, like Design: Leo Park. The part after the colon appears as the detail under each box.
How deep can the chart go?
Up to six levels of indentation and 150 people or teams in total. Charts read best with three levels or fewer; split large organizations into one chart per department.
Who sits at the top?
Your title line becomes the top of the chart. Use the company, team, or leader's name.
Is this org chart maker really free?
Yes. You can write, preview, switch layouts, and download a PNG or SVG without an account or a card. Signing up is only needed for AI drafting and cloud sync.
Does this page use AI?
No. The preview follows your lines exactly: each line becomes an item, a colon adds a description, and indentation adds a branch. Nothing is invented. If you want AI to draft or rewrite a diagram, open it in the editor and sign up for 10 free AI credits a month.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The diagram is drawn in your browser. When you choose Open in editor, it's saved to this browser's local storage, not to a server, unless you sign in and turn on sync.
Can I keep the chart up to date?
Yes. Open in editor saves it as a board in this browser. Edit the text whenever the team changes and export again.
